What it does

This Website will help NextGen to understand the importance of investments in an interactive way.

How we built it

We connect the API of Plaid to fetch the customer's financial journey and further evaluate how good they are in their money management.

One of the challenges was finding the website's call to action.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We successfully make saving more interactive and trackable like a social network game. Bringing the next generation users and the community behind into the filed of saving and smart financial management. Also based on three of the most important financial concept for young people about their retirement - economical choice, financial independence and invest intelligence, we make it easy to embed these points into their mind during gaming and competition with the community.

What we learned

How to integrate the fin-knowledge into real evaluation index and corporate with plaid API to build a whole backend system with designing visualization and customer journey web app.

What's next for Next Big Coin

Next step is making it into a mobile app, which means we can be more sticky to users' daily life and easier to send push notification based on their account activities. As a social network game, it should be closely and easily connected to users and their relationships, therefore, the alternative call-to-actions are so important to attract user to open the app more often and spontaneously, maybe by providing more detailed or structured advise on what exactly they should purchase based their expense history. This could be more related to product correlation and recommendation system customized for every next gen.

- Fintech algo implementation

I work on implementation of financial metrics to evaluate whether the customer's saving/investment behavior is good or not. The idea of saving intelligence and financial independence come from ratio of variable cost/fixed cost and the ratio of asset over liabilities divided by yearly expense. They greatly demonstrate users' choice of expense are good or bad based on their income.

- Plaid API call/response paring algo

After receiving the response from plaid, we parse the response and further extract the essence data we need to tell user's behavior.

- Financial behavior taxonomy build up

Specify 10 out of 106 financial behavior categories and split them into separate topics that can help us go deep about whether and how much the user is buying the most economic choice of their needs.
