After hours of searching, they still don’t know:

The biggest problem is often not a lack of opportunities—it is the difficulty of discovering the right ones.
That idea inspired NexPathAI.
We wanted to create a simpler experience where people do not have to endlessly search across platforms. Instead, they describe who they are, what they want to achieve, and where they want to go—and AI helps surface opportunities that align with their goals.
NexPathAI was built around one belief:
Access to opportunities should not depend on already knowing where to look.
What it doesNexPathAI is an AI-powered opportunity discovery platform.
Users provide information about themselves such as: Goals Skills Experience level Interests Preferences Timeline NexPathAI analyzes this information and presents personalized opportunities that align with the user’s profile. Rather than showing generic lists, the platform provides: Opportunity matching Personalized fit scores Recommendation explanations Guided next actions The goal is to reduce uncertainty and help people move forward faster.
How we built it
NexPathAI was designed and developed during STEMINATE HACKS 2026. The product experience focused on: Clean onboarding Personalized profile collection AI-inspired recommendation flow Mobile-first design Fast navigation and accessibility The experience was prototyped and deployed as a working web application. Special attention was given to making the product understandable within a short demo experience while still communicating the long-term vision.
Challenges we ran into
One challenge was balancing personalization with simplicity. Recommendation systems can become complex quickly, so we focused on creating an experience that feels intelligent while remaining easy to use. Another challenge was working within limited time and resources while ensuring the experience stayed polished and functional. We also had to think carefully about trust—users should understand why opportunities are being recommended.

What we learned
Building NexPathAI reinforced an important idea: Technology becomes more meaningful when it reduces friction and helps people make decisions with confidence. We learned how thoughtful onboarding, AI-driven guidance, and clear user experience can create a product that feels genuinely helpful.
