Inspiration We were inspired by the growing need for technology that does more than simply provide information. People often have to use multiple applications to search for information, make decisions, and complete everyday tasks. We wanted to create a solution that could understand what a user actually needs and help them take the next step.
This led us to NexaAI — an intelligent AI-powered assistant designed to understand user intent, provide personalized assistance, and turn natural-language requests into useful actions.
Our goal was simple: make AI more practical, accessible, and helpful in everyday situations.
What it does NexaAI is an AI-powered intelligent assistant that allows users to interact naturally through conversational input.
It understands user requests, analyzes the context, and provides relevant responses, recommendations, and actionable assistance. Instead of only answering questions, NexaAI is designed to help users move from an idea or problem toward a practical solution.

How we built it We built NexaAI by combining an AI-powered conversational layer with a cloud-based application architecture.
The system takes a user's natural-language input, processes the intent, generates an appropriate response, and presents the result through a simple and user-friendly interface. We focused on creating a modular architecture so that additional AI capabilities and automated workflows can be integrated easily.
For the hackathon, we explored AWS technologies to support the application's AI, backend, storage, and deployment requirements. This allowed us to build a solution that is designed to be scalable and reliable rather than being limited to a local prototype.
Challenges we ran into One of our biggest challenges was deciding how to make the AI useful beyond simple question-and-answer interactions. Understanding user intent and providing responses that are both relevant and actionable required careful consideration of the overall user experience.
We also faced challenges in integrating different components of the application, handling unexpected user inputs, and maintaining consistent responses.
Another challenge was balancing the scope of the project with the limited time available during the hackathon. We had to prioritize the features that delivered the most value while keeping the implementation reliable and easy to demonstrate.
Accomplishments that we're proud of We are proud of turning an initial idea into a working AI-powered solution within the constraints of a hackathon.
Our biggest accomplishment was creating an experience where users can communicate naturally with the system instead of having to navigate complicated workflows. We are also proud of designing NexaAI with scalability and future expansion in mind.
Most importantly, the project helped us demonstrate how AI and cloud technologies can be combined to solve practical problems and create a more intelligent user experience.
What we learned Building NexaAI taught us that developing an AI application is not only about choosing a powerful AI model. The quality of the user experience, system architecture, prompt design, data flow, and reliability are equally important.
We learned how to think about AI from a user's perspective — focusing on intent, context, and actionable outcomes rather than simply generating responses.
We also gained valuable experience with AWS technologies, cloud-based application development, integrating multiple components, debugging under time constraints, and rapidly turning an idea into a functional prototype.
The hackathon reinforced an important lesson for us: a good AI solution should not just be intelligent — it should be genuinely useful.
What's next for Nexa AI NexaAI is an AI-powered personal assistant that helps users turn their goals into actionable plans. It understands natural-language requests, creates personalized tasks and recommendations, tracks progress, and provides intelligent guidance when users need help. The goal of NexaAI is to go beyond simply answering questions and actively help users achieve their goals.
