Inspiration

Dapps are a boon in the current frame of time and we have to take advantage of this technology to combat the biggest challenges which are being faced in the market. I have taken the challenge to make a decentralised news feed app to affect this change since it can change lives, that is it can Combating Censorship, Enhancing Credibility and Trust, Empowering Journalists and Content Creators, Promoting Diverse Perspectives, Enhancing Data Privacy, Reducing Media Monopolies, Facilitating Community Engagement and Participation,Improving Access to Information , Supporting Crisis Reporting , Encouraging Ethical Journalism .

What it does

So basically we have taken a free news feeds json available (one which doesn't require any API token key access) and used chainlink to get feeds off-chain and makes state changes in the smart contract and we can see it in the frontend using web3 and astro framework.

How we built it

The smart contract is built with Solidity while the frontend is basically astro framework.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

There were issues in connecting the news feed app using Chainlink Functions due to string/byte encoding issues which were prevailing from time to time.

What's next for News-App

Well we can integrate withmultiple news sources instead of a singe source that requires integration of news sources which require api keys from those websites, making of state changes in the smart contract a bit different nad many more things can be done.
