Telepic
Draw together you friends and family with Telepic! A telephone game based on drawings.
What is it?
An mobile game in which you play a telephone and pictionary mashup! Pick a random word, and create a sketch. The sketch will get passed on to the next person, and they have to make a sketch based off of that. The last person will then have to guess the word that the sketch is based off of. Loads of fun guessing and seeing each others drawing! Draw together you friends and family with Telepic!
How did we build it?
We used Flutter for the mobile portion and used Google to host our Nodejs server. Pusher and RESTful api were used to form connections to send and transfer data.
Challenges We Ran Into
For the backend, we run into trouble due to race conditions and with how large the image sizes were. Additionally, there was a bit of problems with setting up the server on Google Cloud. In the front end, we also had several issues connecting with the backend. Then main issues that we had on the mobile were with the animations and design of the app.
Accomplishments That We Are Proud Of
We put in a lot of effort designing and making the application look nice. We needed to learn a lot of new things in order to be able to draw on the screen, save images, and do the special animations and effects. In addition, we learnt a lot about video editing and animations to create our presentation video.
What's Next for Telepic?
The next step for Telepic would be to create a website version of it.
