Inspiration

Never Gonna Let You Up was inspired by the thrill of Only Up style climbing games and the hilarious chaos that happens when friends compete. We wanted to take that tension and make it social, unpredictable, and a little bit mischievous. The idea came from friendly rivalry moments where pushing someone “accidentally” was half the fun.

What it does

The world turns a simple vertical climb into a frantic multiplayer race. Players scale platforms while trying to stay ahead of friends who can push, bump, and sabotage them. Every jump feels risky, every interaction unpredictable, and no one is safe on the way up.

How we built it

We used TypeScript for scripting & Gen AI tools built directly into the editors to generate 3D models & Skybox.

Challenges we ran into

Syncing multiplayer interactions reliably especially pushing was tough. Vertical levels also demanded performance optimizations to avoid lag at high altitudes. Ensuring players felt challenged but not overwhelmed required constant tweaking.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We created a social climbing game that’s genuinely funny and competitive. The push mechanic feels satisfying, and the vertical world rewards skill without losing its chaotic charm.

What we learned

We learned how delicate multiplayer physics can be, how players read vertical space differently, and how small tweaks dramatically change fairness and flow.

What's next for Never Gonna Let You Up

We plan to add power-ups, dynamic moving platforms, seasonal maps, and ranked races making each climb even more competitive and replayable.
