Inspiration

Interviews are often stressful and unpredictable, especially for students and professionals preparing for visa, academic, or job interviews. Many candidates struggle not because they lack knowledge, but because they don’t get realistic practice or actionable feedback. We wanted to create a platform that goes beyond mock questions and actually simulates interview behavior, confidence, and performance. This inspired us to build NeuroVisa—an AI-powered interview simulator focused on preparation, clarity, and confidence.

What it does

NeuroVisa is an AI-driven interview simulation platform that allows users to practice interviews in a realistic and interactive environment. Users can sign up, choose their visa or resume type, select interview modes such as friendly, neutral, or strict, and interact through text, microphone, or camera-based inputs. During the interview, AI-generated questions are presented and user responses are analyzed. After each session, users receive visual performance insights including confidence levels, strengths, improvement areas, and interview history tracking.

How we built it

We built NeuroVisa as a full-stack web application with a strong focus on usability, stability, and AI integration. The frontend was designed to be modern and engaging, featuring a creative, 3D-inspired background and a clean dashboard for performance insights. The backend handles authentication, interview session lifecycle, data storage, and report generation. Artificial intelligence is used for interview question generation, response analysis, and confidence evaluation, ensuring meaningful and personalized feedback for each user.

Challenges we ran into

One major challenge was managing interview sessions correctly, including timers, state cleanup, and safe termination without crashes or blank screens. Another challenge was designing advanced metrics that sound innovative while remaining understandable to users. We also had to carefully handle navigation, data persistence, and session history to ensure reliable performance across multiple interviews.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We successfully built a working AI-powered interview simulator with real-time analysis and post-interview reporting. We are proud of creating a clean and intuitive user experience that combines creative design with meaningful AI insights. Implementing interview history tracking, visual performance graphs, and safe session termination were key achievements that strengthened the overall reliability of the platform.

What we learned

Through this project, we learned the importance of clear UX language, robust state management, and reliable AI integration. We realized that even small design choices can significantly impact user trust and understanding. The project also helped us gain hands-on experience in building AI-powered systems that are both technically sound and user-focused.

What's next for NeuroVisa

Next, we plan to introduce voice-based interviews with speech analysis, multilingual support, and more interview categories such as job, academic, and professional certifications. We also aim to enhance AI feedback with deeper behavioral insights, improve analytics visualization, and expand personalization based on user history. Our long-term goal is to make NeuroVisa a globally accessible interview preparation platform.
