We asked: What if books could talk? What if they could listen? What if you could have a live conversation with a book — in the actual voice of the author?

That idea became Verbazon — a next-gen publishing platform that transforms traditional books into intelligent, interactive AI entities. Not just audiobooks. Living, speaking, responsive minds in book form.

What We Built Verbazon empowers authors and readers with:

AI-Enabled Books – Books are now powered by conversational AI. They can speak, pause, explain, and answer user questions at any point.

Voice Cloning – Using the author's actual voice, readers can hear books narrated as if the author is right beside them.

Real-Time Q&A – Readers can interrupt and ask: “What does this mean?” “Can you explain this concept?” “How does this relate to today's world?” And the book responds with contextual, intelligent answers.

Multi-Modal Format – Read visually, listen audibly, or talk interactively.

What it does

How we built it : We used a mix of cutting-edge AI tools and frameworks:

OpenAI GPT-4o / GPT-4-turbo for conversational intelligence.

ElevenLabs / Play.ht for high-quality voice cloning using author samples.

Whisper API for speech-to-text interaction from readers.

Bolt.new as the no-code / low-code platform for rapid UI/UX prototyping.

Vector DB (e.g., Pinecone) for semantic memory so books remember and reason.

All components were integrated to provide a seamless, voice-activated interface where the book feels alive.

Challenges we ran into : Latency in Voice AI – Maintaining real-time responsiveness without breaking the immersive experience.

Voice Cloning Ethics – We had to build permission safeguards and a consent pipeline for author voice usage.

Book Structuring – Not all books are written for dialogue. We had to design logic for when to switch from passive reading to interactive explanation.

Multi-modal Experience – Merging reading, listening, and talking into one fluid UX was a significant design hurdle.
