Inspiration
NeuroSoma was born from a deeply personal transformation. In my forties, after years of working with body-based regulation practices and re-evaluating my mental and nervous system health, I made a deliberate decision to translate lived experience into a practical digital tool.
With no formal background in software development, the project began from zero technical knowledge and evolved entirely through AI-assisted development. Google’s AI ecosystem—particularly Gemini 3—made it possible to transform embodied practice into an adaptive, interactive system rather than static written content.
What it does
NeuroSoma is a structured neuro-somatic wellness application powered by Gemini 3.
It delivers daily, program-based guidance focused on regulation and grounding, not advice or diagnosis.
The system operates through three predefined layers:
- Somatic Awareness — gentle, predefined body-based practices
- Daily Rituals — simple grounding actions (tea, seeds, elixir)
- Mental Reflection — short, non-interpretive prompts
User input is handled within a strict scope. The AI does not generate new practices or provide medical or psychological advice.
All AI interactions are powered by Gemini 3 and routed through a secure Firebase Cloud Function proxy.
How we built it
NeuroSoma was built as a solo project using an AI-first and no-code approach.
- Core intelligence: Gemini 3 via Google AI Studio
- Frontend: FlutterFlow (calm, minimal UX)
- Backend: Firebase (Firestore, Auth, session persistence)
The AI acts strictly as an orchestration and presentation layer, operating under a locked system prompt and multi-layer safety filters.
Challenges we ran into
- Transitioning into software creation later in life without a technical background
- Translating embodied, human methodology into system instructions
- Enforcing safety, non-clinical boundaries, and scope control at all times
What we learned
This project demonstrated that AI, when constrained, can radically lower barriers to creation.
Gemini 3 functioned not only as a reasoning engine, but as a learning partner—enabling structured experimentation without violating ethical boundaries.
The key lesson was that responsible AI design is not about unlimited capability, but about carefully designed boundaries.
