Inspiration
After seeing the devastating impact of resent global events on world wide mental health we felt motivated to make a change. But what could we change and how could we actually make a difference? That's when we saw how overlooked the potential of neurochemical tracking was and the impact it could have on global mental health. We were inspired by popular brands such as ZOE and OURA to help people access their own data and find their neuro need. After discovering brands such as happy brain and combining it with evidence of increasing supplements we were inspired to create non medicated solutions to low levels of happy hormones.
What it does
Find your neuro need today! NeuroSOLVE is a biotechnology monitor to empower individuals to take control of their hormones by monitoring the levels of key neurotransmitters involved in mental health: dopamine, oxytocin, serotonin and endorphins. It also provides directly-linked solutions with a focus on community and accessibility while being a customization app. Data analysis and accessible solutions will allow people to manage their mental health and empower them to make a change.
How we built it
We used a combination of HTML, CSS and javaScript to make a partially functioning website while utilizing design software such as Canva to make our ideas come to life!
Challenges we ran into
Before yesterday neither of us were able to code which meant we had a very steep learning code ahead of us! As biochemistry students we solved a social problem the best we we knew how but unfortunately we were not a belt to bring all of our ideas to life. However we managed to use design software to help visualize some of our e ideas.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud that we have a website. It was a big jump to try and learn as much code as we could overnight so we are extremely proud of how much we have learnt and how much we have accomplished and the fully functioning aspects of our websites.
What we learned
We have learnt a lot of HTML, CSS and javaScript which was completely new to us! But we also learnt a lot on the biochemical side about how to track different hormones and all sorts of development processes.
What's next for NeuroSOLVE
We would love to learn more code to bring other aspects of our design to life. We would like to initiate our key concepts of accessibility by having colour and font changing options on the website. If possible we would also like to look more in to the data analysis aspects and be able to fully analyse the data to make NeuroSOLVE more than just a concept!
