⚙️ What it does MicroWins is a privacy-first AI productivity companion that helps users overcome task paralysis by breaking overwhelming goals into small, achievable micro-steps. Instead of showing a long to-do list, MicroWins: Shows only one actionable step at a time Uses AI to intelligently break goals into micro-wins Adapts future steps based on user behavior Works offline, supports Indian languages, and runs on low-end devices The goal is simple: reduce cognitive overload and help users build momentum—one micro-win at a time.
🛠️ How I built it MicroWins was designed with a human-centered and Bharat-first approach. Frontend: Flutter for a clean, cross-platform experience Backend: Node.js / FastAPI for lightweight APIs AI Layer: LLM-based task decomposition for breaking goals into steps Rule-based fallback logic for offline or low-connectivity scenarios Data Storage: Local-first encrypted storage Optional cloud sync for cross-device access Accessibility: Multilingual support (Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, etc.) Voice input for low-literacy users The system prioritizes local processing, minimal data usage, and user privacy throughout.
⚠️ Challenges I ran into Balancing ambition and feasibility: It was tempting to overbuild, but we had to consciously limit scope to what could realistically be demonstrated in a hackathon. Designing for low cognitive load: Creating an interface that truly reduces overwhelm required multiple iterations and ruthless simplification. Privacy-first AI: Ensuring useful AI behavior while minimizing data collection was a key technical and ethical challenge. India-specific constraints: Designing for low bandwidth, multilingual users, and low-end devices required careful architectural decisions.
