Inspiration
The inspiration for this project comes from our interest in psychology and curiosity to know how different brain works cause diversity comes in different forms and one of the form includes “Neurodiversity”. Neurodiversity refers to the natural variation in neurological conditions and cognitive abilities among individuals. It emphasizes that neurological differences, such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other conditions, are simply variations of the human brain rather than deficits. It explains the unique ways people's brains work. While everyone's brain develops similarly, no two brains function just alike.
What it does
Neurodivers addresses neurodiversity and provide educational information and resources about neurodivergence so that people can become more aware about neuro-divergent brains and help create a better world for everyone regardless of differences. By raising awareness about neurodiversity, we promote inclusivity and acceptance of individuals with diverse neurological profiles. This shift in perspective helps reduce stigma and discrimination, creating a more inclusive environment. Awareness about neurodiversity is essential for fostering inclusivity, challenging stereotypes, promoting understanding, providing support, capitalizing on diverse talents, and empowering neurodiverse individuals. It contributes to creating a more accepting and accommodating society where everyone can thrive.
How we built it
We built Neurodivers using a combination of technologies like React, CSS, and designing tools, we successfully developed a visually appealing web application. The combination of React's component-based architecture, CSS for styling, and designing tools for prototyping and visualizing our ideas played a vital role in building a user-friendly and engaging project.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into several challenges during the development of the project. Some of the things we did in the project were the first time for us so figuring things out while communicating smoothly with your teammates were quit challenging but after completion of this project we are motivated to keep going forward and keep learning things.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We take pride in creating a platform that provides inclusive environment, raise awareness and provides resources. We hope that with this app we would be able to help people feel included.
What we learned
We have learnt that although there are so many things that we want to include in our project that is not always possible to achieve in the given time. So instead of chasing everything focus on one thing. Sometimes less is more and more is less.
What's next for Neurodivers
Right now it is only a one page website and only includes limited resources. So in future we would like to add more resources and multiple factors and features to our website. We would also like to collaborate with others to create a safe space for neurodivergent brains.
