🧠 Inspiration

This project was born from a deeply personal experience. My paternal uncle recently suffered a brain stroke. Watching him — a once energetic, lively man — suddenly lose control over his speech, movement, and confidence was heartbreaking. But what hit even harder was the struggle that followed.

His family was left completely overwhelmed. There was no single app or system to guide them. They had to juggle between multiple platforms for doctor appointments, physiotherapy, medication reminders, emergency care, and emotional support. Critical resources were scattered, and there was no structured recovery journey. It made me realize how neglected brain health and stroke aftercare really are — not just in terms of awareness, but in digital innovation.

While heart health apps are widely available, brain stroke recovery remains in the dark, even though it affects millions each year. That’s when the idea for **NeuroCare was born — to build something real, meaningful, and tech-driven that could help not only my uncle, but thousands of others in the same situation.

💡 What it does

NeuroCare is an all-in-one web platform designed for brain stroke survivors and their caregivers. It provides:

  • 🏥 Nearby hospital locator + emergency FAST test scanner
  • 📹 Secure video consultations with doctors
  • 👩‍⚕ Home nurse + doctor booking
  • 💊 Medicine delivery & at-home blood tests
  • 📊 Personalized dashboard
  • 🧠 Awareness tools & mental well-being support

🛠️ How we built it

We built the frontend using React.js ,HTML ,CSS * for a smooth and accessible interface. The backend is powered by *Firebase (Firestore, Auth), while AI features like conversational support use OpenAI APIs.
We integrated third-party APIs like Google Maps for hospital locator and Jitsi for video calls

🚧 Challenges we ran into

  • Integrating video calls & GPS reliably
  • Managing API rate limits
  • Designing for caregivers who may not be tech-savvy
  • Keeping the experience personal, yet scalable

🏆 Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • 🥇 Winners of HackWithGujarat 2025 — proud to have built a solution that not only solved a real-world healthcare challenge but also got recognized for its innovation and social impact.
  • ✅ *Built a full-fledged functional platform, covering everything from emergency stroke detection to long-term recovery and mental well-being.
  • 🤝 Successfully integrated multiple complex systems — including AI-powered rehab, video consultations, hospital locator, medicine delivery, and personalized dashboards — into one seamless experience.
  • 🔐 Ensured a smooth and secure user experience using Firebase Auth, Firestore, and scalable architecture for real-time updates.

📚 What we learned

-We learned that real impact starts with empathy, not just code.

-Healthcare should be simpler, and tech can make it easier for families.

-Tools like Firebase and OpenAI helped us move fast and build smarter.

-Most of all, we saw how a personal problem can inspire a solution for many.

🚀 What's Next for NeuroCare

  • 🔐 Blockchain-Based Medical Records: We plan to integrate blockchain technology to securely store patients’ medical history and reports. This ensures complete data integrity, privacy, and eliminates third-party tampering or unauthorized access — giving stroke survivors control over their health records.

  • 📱 Mobile App Deployment: While our current platform is web-based, we aim to expand into a cross-platform mobile app for even easier access and offline support for caregivers in rural or low-connectivity areas.

  • 🌍 Partner with Local Clinics & Hospitals: To scale impact, we plan to collaborate with real-world healthcare providers, rehab centers, and pharmacies to offer verified on-ground services through NeuroCare.

  • 🤖 AI-Driven Conversational Support: We aim to enhance user interaction through intelligent, natural language assistants that can answer queries, guide users, and offer emotional support 24/7 — making the platform feel more responsive and caring.

NeuroCare isn’t just a project — it’s the beginning of a smarter, more compassionate future for brain stroke recovery.
