Inspiration
My hearing loss went undiagnosed for years, and I never knew for sure. This inspired me to create a tool that helps others identify potential hearing issues early.
What it does
Audify helps assess users' hearing problems and symptoms, providing personalized feedback and urging action if severity is detected.
How we built it
We envisioned a step-by-step journey that is simple and approachable. Users provide feedback through both static forms and conversational interactions. Based on these inputs and hearing test results, we highlight potential risks and generate a summary report.
Challenges we ran into
Designing a chatbot that asks a limited number of follow-up questions while gathering sufficient information was challenging.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
In a limited time, we built a functional workflow with key features that support the core vision of HearAI.
What we learned
Prioritizing the most important features is crucial when time is limited. Focusing on specific areas in medical science reveals many opportunities for meaningful improvement.
What's next for HearAI
- Expand integration with more sensors and health apps.
- Improve AI accuracy with more medically relevant feedback.
- Make tools like the hearing test closer to actual clinical audiology standards.
