About the Project

Neural Field Guide was inspired by my own desire to learn about how AI works. I wanted it to be at a level where a software engineer like myself could deeply understand the mechanisms of AI, without having to get a PhD or study for 2+ years.

I / Codex built a self-paced platform with 182 lessons across LLMs, world models, generative models, reinforcement learning, and embodied AI.

TBH it was all Codex that made the architectural choices - It uses Next.js, React, TypeScript, interactive simulations, deterministic assessments, and browser-based progress—without requiring accounts, APIs, or external graders.

A challenge I had was wrestling with Codex to go deeper on all the educational content instead of getting side tracked or glossing over the content pages. For example, when it first made the capstone project pages, it only detailed its justifications for why the capstone projects existed without actually implementing the content for the capstone projects (!).
