Network management system

Inspiration

Need to have updated information of a 12,000 port network (in 2000) and provision and monitor them in the most automated way and reduce need on experts to run a network.

What it does

Keep track of equipment licecycle from planning and budgeting phase to deployment and operation.

Manage Add/Move/Change process. Perform monthly billing.

Automated configuration.

Automated monitoring.

How I built it

PHP front-end, MySQL/Oracle backend. Browser clients with HTML, CSS and Javascript

Challenges I ran into

Not really. PHP was easy. Very flexible and easy to grow.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Reduce manpower needs and still in use after 16 years.
