Inspiration

We noticed that many internet users struggle to manage their monthly data packages. Users often consume more data than expected during some days and discover that their package is running out before the renewal date. We wanted to create a simple solution that does not only show the remaining data, but actually helps users understand how much they should use each day.

What it does

NetWise is a smart internet package management system designed to help users make their data package last until the renewal date.

The user provides their package information, such as the package size, remaining data, and number of days until renewal. NetWise calculates the recommended daily data allowance and continuously compares it with the user’s actual consumption.

The system provides a clear dashboard showing the remaining data, daily recommended usage, consumption status, and alerts when the user is using more data than recommended.

The project is also designed to be developed and integrated with telecom companies. For supported plans, the telecom company’s API can provide the package and usage data automatically, eliminating the need for manual data entry.

How we built it

We built NetWise as a web-based application with a simple and user-friendly interface. The system focuses on data calculations, usage tracking, visual dashboards, alerts, and smart recommendations.

The current prototype demonstrates the core user experience and logic. In a real telecom integration, the system can connect to the provider’s API to retrieve the user’s package and consumption data automatically.

Challenges we ran into

One of the main challenges was designing a system that gives users useful recommendations instead of simply displaying their remaining data.

We had to consider the package size, remaining data, remaining days, and daily consumption together to calculate a realistic daily usage limit.

Another challenge was designing the system in a way that could later integrate with telecom providers while keeping the user experience simple.

Accomplishments that we’re proud of

We are proud of turning a common everyday problem into a practical solution that can be easily understood by users.

Instead of waiting until the package runs out, NetWise helps users take action early by showing their recommended daily usage and warning them when their consumption is higher than expected.

We also designed the concept to be scalable, allowing telecom companies to integrate it with their existing systems and APIs in the future.

What we learned

Through building NetWise, we learned how to turn a real-world problem into a complete digital solution.

We also learned more about user-focused design, data-based calculations, system integration, and how important it is to keep technical solutions simple and understandable for the end user.

What’s next for NetWise

Our next step is to integrate NetWise directly with telecom providers through their APIs, allowing package and consumption data to be retrieved automatically.

We also plan to improve the AI-powered recommendations, provide more personalized usage insights, and add smarter alerts that can predict when a user may run out of data before the renewal date.

Our long-term vision is to make NetWise a smart layer that telecom companies can offer to their customers to help them manage their internet packages more effectively.
