Inspiration
Organisation tend to experience having weak network security thus the urge to monitoring tools to secure their networks. Some networking tools existing are extremely large software and some are very expensive while this can be done with an easy light weight web application.
What it does
Our project scans the network and detects new devices connecting to the network and also notifying the user of suspicious connections. This can now be used to protect your network and know where the issue is. With this you may be able to kick the device on your network.
How we built it
We have used scapy for packet viewing, JavaScript and python as the backend and Html with CSS for the front end dashboard.
Challenges we ran into
Implementing a de-authentication signal without the hardware. Smart alarms for automatic email/message response on suspicious activity Ethernet adaption to the network Automated threat mitigation
Accomplishments that we're proud of
To be able to run the project as it is. Being able to see the devices connected The project being able to have viable use as we enquired for a few people in the industry
What we learned
We have learnt a lot on networking and how to do the system
What's next for Netscar
Further development and releasing as an open project
