NetProtect. Creating a Network of Protectors in Your Life. Currently, 1 in 5 college women are raped. They are at particular risk of acquaintance rape, the most common form of rape. Based on current research and rape prevention programs, NetProtect encourages women to join forces and become each other’s protectors against sexual violence. This interactive, smart phone app offers information on rape prevention, risk factors, self-defense, real-time exit strategies and intervention, survivor resources and ways to support rape prevention. Videos are located throughout the app to create a personal environment to share helpful tips and insights about dating and partying safety. By creating a network of friends looking out for friends, everyone can enjoy a safe college environment, free of sexual violence.
