Inspiration

As a fresh Associate Engineer (Site) and CCNA candidate, I know how hard it can be for junior engineers to debug raw router logs when things go down. I wanted to build a tool that helps IT helpdesks analyze complex network faults instantly using the power of AI.

What it does

NetGenius Link reads raw Cisco IOS error logs, interfaces, or OSPF dynamic routing faults. It instantly identifies the Layer 1 physical or Layer 2/3 configuration problem and outputs a clear, step-by-step troubleshooting plan with exact Cisco CLI commands.

How we built it

The project is built completely no-code using Google AI Studio. We configured the gemini-3.5-flash-lite model with a low temperature of 0.2 to ensure exact routing rules and deployed strict system instructions forcing the AI to work like a senior network engineer.

Challenges we faced

Ensuring the AI systematically checked the network basics first—like IP addresses, gateway status, and specific VLAN tags—without hallucinating command syntaxes was tough. We resolved this through rigorous system instruction structuring.

What we learned

I learned how modern generative AI APIs can seamlessly model low-level networking parameters. It showed me how automation can simplify daily IT support tasks.
