Inspiration
We came up with this project idea to spread awareness of different methods of limiting the amounts of greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere.
What it does
Clouds of CO2 (circles) approach from all sides of the Earth and you, as the player, must protect the Earth through any means possible. For example, you may place solar panels to fend off these gas clouds.
How we built it
We created the graphics with Pygame in Replit, GitHub, Visual Studio Code, and Pycharm.
Challenges we ran into
We started using Replit until it started throwing a mysterious error -- "Opcode error at ..." -- which we could not solve. We migrated to using Pycharm and Github, but we found out that we could not download git on the school computers, so we started using Visual Studio Code's live share function.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We created a complex game with many features we wanted to include. Although the graphics are not fantastic, the fact we made this game in less than six hours was very gratifying.
What we learned
We learned many aspects of game development
What's next for "Net Zero Hero"
We will try to improve the game in the future by adding better graphics, a more comprehensive list of buildings, and a tutorial.
