Nestt App

Inspiration

Nestt was born out of the need to create a more meaningful space for alumni, students, and professionals to connect beyond self-promotion and superficial updates. While some other platforms like LinkedIn focus on resumes and public accolades, Nestt aims to bring back the village — a dynamic, interactive, and supportive community where your past, present, and future align. Inspired by the African proverb, “It takes a village to raise a child,” Nestt reimagines alumni and professional networking as a space for collaborative growth, mentorship, career opportunities, and real engagement.

What it does

Nestt is a social-professional platform built for students, alumni, mentors, and recruiters. It allows users to:

• Connect by university, graduating class, department, or profession.
• Join or manage vibrant communities.
• Participate in trivia, chess, scrabble, and school-vs-school games.
• Compete in live and asynchronous challenges.
• Host or attend events and watch parties.
• Find and book mentors, attend live sessions, and watch on-demand videos.
• Discover career opportunities targeted to their specific alumni or profession.
• Enjoy accessibility with voice features and personalized video using ElevenLabs and Tavus.

How we built it

We built Nestt entirely on Bolt.new. The backend is powered by Supabase for authentication and real-time data, and Netlify was used for deployment. We aim to use RevenueCat to manage our subscription and paywall logic, while ElevenLabs adds voice-readout capabilities to enhance accessibility. Tavus powers personalized AI video for onboarding and mentorship content. We also intend integrate Algorand to mint digital achievement badges as NFTs. The app was designed with beautiful UI in mind, and the UX implements a clean, card-based layout with sticky tab navigation and dynamic feed logic.

Challenges we ran into

• Integrating RevenueCat with Bolt.new required custom workarounds due to SDK compatibility.
• Working with ElevenLabs and Tavus required careful planning to avoid excessive costs while maintaining meaningful AI-driven personalization.
• Keeping the app scalable while still demo-friendly posed some technical issues.
• Designing a community model that was both inclusive and intuitive took multiple iterations. [^1]: As of the time of submission, several of the integrations mentioned above were not functioning as expected. We are actively working to get them fully operational, as this project is not just a demo — it is a product we are deeply committed to launching and growing into a fully functional platform.

What we learned

• Bolt.new is incredibly powerful for rapid MVP development — with the right planning, even complex integrations are achievable.
• Real community requires thoughtful design: it’s not enough to have features; they need to inspire connection.
• Accessibility and inclusivity can be integrated without compromise to UX.
• Building for both education and careers isn’t a conflict — it’s a synergy.

What's next for Nestt App

• Next for Nestt is stabilizing our integrations with Tavus, ElevenLabs, RevenueCat, and Algorand to ensure everything works seamlessly in production.
  
• We're preparing for a public beta by onboarding real users from alumni and professional networks through partnerships with schools and career communities.
  
• The subscription model will be fully rolled out via RevenueCat and Stripe, activating pro features for mentors, recruiters, and power users.
  
• We intend to drive growth by launching community referral programs, gamified competitions, and exclusive content from mentors.
  
• Lastly, we'll rollout a mobile version of Nestt using Bolt’s capabilities to broaden accessibility across devices.
