When I first moved into my dorm, I was very eager to make it my home. I felt like a free bird, and when I came home to my nest, it was very empty and not easy to customize. I wanted functional decorations that would allow me to take all the parts of me from home to my dorm and keep them somewhere. That's when I noticed a similarity between all the bedframes, and I had an idea. I took inspiration from YouTube videos I watched, where YouTubers would print cool products that all their viewers could eventually use, and created the NEST shelving system that allowed you to create your own little storage nest. Using Onshape and Ansys Workbench, I worked to design and create a shelf module that could each hold 30 pounds. Using this, I would create multiple variants of the NEST shelf that could all slide together onto the wooden boards found on all MSU bedframes to create a customizable storage solution for all MSU students living in dorms.
