Inspiration

We were inspired by how difficult and stressful interview preparation can be for students and early-career developers. Most people practice using static question lists, which don’t reflect real interview conversations. We wanted to build something that feels like a real interview and helps users improve through realistic practice and feedback.

What it does

Navo is an AI-powered interview coach that simulates real interview sessions.

Users can:

• Enter a role (e.g., Frontend Developer, Backend Developer, Data Analyst)
• Input their skills and experience level
• Start a live AI interview session
• Answer role-based questions in a conversational format
• Receive instant AI feedback on their responses

It creates a realistic interview environment that helps users build confidence, communication skills, and technical readiness.

How we built it

We built Navo using a modern web stack combined with AI integration.

Key components include:

• A responsive frontend for user input and interview sessions
• An AI-powered conversational engine that acts as the interviewer
• Prompt engineering to generate role-specific and adaptive questions
• A feedback system that evaluates user responses and provides improvement suggestions
• Real-time interaction system to simulate a live interview experience

Challenges we ran into

One of the biggest challenges was making the AI behave like a real interviewer instead of a chatbot. We also worked on maintaining context throughout the interview so that questions feel connected and relevant. Designing a smooth real-time conversational flow was another key challenge.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of building a system that can simulate realistic interview conversations with dynamic questioning and feedback. Creating a role-aware AI interviewer that adapts to user input is a major achievement.

What we learned

We learned how to design conversational AI systems, improve prompt engineering for structured outputs, and build real-time interactive user experiences. We also gained deeper understanding of how AI can be applied to real-world career preparation tools.

What's next for Nervo

Next, we plan to add:- Resume upload and AI analysis for personalized interviews- Voice-based interview mode for more realism- Performance scoring and progress tracking dashboard- Company-specific interview simulations (e.g., Google, startups, etc.)- Smarter AI feedback with improvement roadmaps
