Inspiration

True story: clean, minimalist design works well in nearly any digital space. Online education websites are no exception. It’s as easy as ABC: a digital learning space should allow the student to have a very easy time getting where they need to go.

What it does

It helps to ask questions from teachers and peers. Also, users will have free and unlimited acess to the platform. We tried to make it simple. Opt for easy-to-read fonts on bold buttons with simple calls to action, like “learn more about our courses” or “get relieble answers.”

How we built it

We used modern technologies such as HTML & CSS in order to create the base of Front end of web application. Moreover, we picked Python, specifically Django to work with Back end development. It allowed to save time with its modules. Next, we used Heroku to deploy our web application. Last we purchased Domain name Nerdspace.website to be acessible for everyone

Challenges I ran into

One of the most challanging parts of our project was deployment. We used to use Netlify to host our web sites, however we decided to work with Heroku platform. We had couple of challanges where we found solutions on the internet.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

The purpose of this type of website is to uphold the overall brand of the university or college. A higher education website contains a great deal of important information for students, faculty and staff. Additionally, it’s a way of representing the campus culture for prospective students.

What we learned

We learned to work in a team, share ideas, make new friends

What's next for Nerds Space

The next step for Nerds Space is to add rankings for university buildings and post positive/negative comments about buildings (Library, Student centers...)
