🦾 What it does

NeonAtlas AI-Agent is your all-in-one solution for Jira automation and enhancement. It can:

  • Create and manage Jira issues with simple commands.
  • Transition issues through various stages effortlessly.
  • Search for issues using JQL queries.
  • Create and update Confluence pages to keep your documentation in sync.
  • Manage Bitbucket repositories directly from Discord.
  • Voice-chat or text-chat with an AI agent for quick insights, assistance, or just do all the work for you!

🏗️ How we built it

We leveraged the power of Atlassian Forge, Discord API, and AWS Bedrock to create NeonAtlas. The bot is built using Python, with key integrations for Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket. We utilized environment variables for secure secret management and asyncio, pm2, & nohup for efficient, non-blocking operations. The AI-powered chat feature is enabled through AWS Bedrock, providing intelligent responses and assistance.

🚧 Challenges we ran into

Building NeonAtlas wasn't without its hurdles. We faced challenges in:

  • API rate limits: Ensuring the bot operates within the rate limits of Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket APIs.
  • Error handling: Implementing robust error handling to provide meaningful feedback to users.
  • Async operations: Managing asynchronous tasks to ensure smooth and responsive interactions.
  • Security: Securely handling sensitive information like API tokens and secrets.
