Inspiration
I was inspired by how rapidly society is changing: declining birth rates, shifting social structures, and the various ways governments are trying to respond. These global demographic shifts became the foundation of the idea.
What it does
The project explores a near-future scenario where corporations begin intervening in population issues. It examines how the private sector might attempt to solve demographic decline and what ethical questions could arise from this involvement.
How we built it
The process began with the initial concept and a short script. After that, I developed a visual direction and decided to create a 3D-scan aesthetic, as if everything takes place inside a digitally captured environment. I animated the scenes using AI tools (EE), assembled the edit, designed the sound, and refined the overall look.
Challenges we ran into
One of the biggest challenges was achieving realistic “floating” human motion. AI often misinterpreted anatomy and physics. Another major difficulty came from the strict limitations of generative models regarding embryos or womb imagery. Creating anything in that domain without violating tool policies was nearly impossible.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I’m proud that the project addresses a topic that society isn’t paying attention to yet, but will likely confront within the next decade.
What we learned
I learned to articulate my ideas and intentions more clearly and to translate abstract concerns into a structured visual narrative.
What's next for NeoGenesis
There will be a continuation. I’ve already received a lot of feedback, and I plan to expand the world of NeoGenesis with a second part that develops the theme further and explores deeper consequences.
