Inspiration
We were inspired by how difficult it is for students in Africa and beyond to access quality, practical tech education. Many learners struggle to stay motivated or find reliable learning paths for coding and AI. I wanted to create something that makes learning not only accessible but also inspiring — that’s how Nelavista was born.
What it does
Nelavista is an AI-powered education platform that helps students learn coding, AI, and digital skills through interactive, gamified, and personalized experiences. It makes learning fun, adaptive, and community-driven.
How we built it
Built using React, Firebase, TensorFlow, and GPT-based APIs for personalized learning. We integrated smart recommendation systems and progress tracking for better user experience.
Challenges we ran into
Limited funding and time to build a full-scale platform, integrating AI models smoothly, and balancing performance with affordability were major hurdles.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We built a working version of Nelavista that already helps students learn coding and AI interactively. We successfully integrated AI-driven recommendations that personalize lessons for each learner. We also created early connections with schools and online learners who tested and loved the experience.
Launching Tawfiq AI, our Islamic AI assistant, alongside Nelavista proved that our AI framework can scale across different fields — education and spirituality. We’re proud of turning a simple idea into two functioning, meaningful products built with purpose and impact in mind.
What we learned
We learned how to build AI-powered learning systems that scale efficiently, the importance of user experience in education, and how AI can personalize learning better than any traditional system.
What's next for Nelavista
We plan to integrate voice learning, AI tutors, and expand into Islamic education through our sister project, Tawfiq AI, bringing faith and knowledge together responsibly.
