Inspiration

The inspiration for this app came from a personal experience I am actually facing. I am trying to help find a dog walker for my dog at home as my parents go to work and me and my sibling are in college. We wanted to find a cost effective and safe way to do this. This app would help people in similar situations as it would allow them to post this task needed in an area and people could l pick it up.

What it does

The app is essentially a UI currently with limited functionality. It has a full preview of what the app will look like but it shows all the tasks people have posted in the area and allows you to view them and accept.

How we built it

The application is built using Next.js with the App Router. It uses React for building the user interface and TypeScript for type safety, which helps catch errors during development.

Challenges we ran into

Challenges we ran into was starting to learn how to start coding the backend functions of the app. None of us are experienced in full stack development so it was definitely a challenge

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of actually creating a product even if it just a prototype.

What we learned

We learned how to connect a front end and back end together and also how to start coding with React.

What's next for Neighborly Network

We want to develop this from just a prototype to a full fledged app.
