Inspiration

In today's increasingly connected world, ensuring the safety and security of our neighborhoods is more important than ever.

What it does

This project records any type of movement that it detects. It is saved in a file with current date and time.

How we built it

Built it using Python and its OpenCV library.

Challenges we ran into

First time using OpenCV, so it was hard to understand few lines of code.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Being able to build my first program using the OpenCV library. It has also been used by a few people near my house (around 10+). We use a webcam to detect and record movements.

What we learned

Intermediate-level Python and its OpenCV library.

What's next for Neighborhood Watch

Make it more advanced by sending us notifications on our phones, whenever a movement is detected.
