Inspiration

Neighborhood Insider was created to solve a simple problem: local information is fragmented across dozens of websites, apps, and social platforms. Residents struggle to stay informed about what is happening in their community, while local businesses often lack affordable, effective marketing tools to reach nearby customers.

We envisioned a single AI-powered platform where residents can discover everything happening in their neighborhood while businesses gain intelligent tools to grow, advertise, and engage with their local community.

What it does

Neighborhood Insider is an AI-powered community intelligence platform that brings together:

Businesses can manage their presence through a Business Dashboard while using our AI Creative Studio to generate professional marketing campaigns, advertisements, promotional graphics, and business content in minutes instead of hours.

The platform is designed to serve residents, businesses, employers, and administrators through dedicated dashboards that simplify community engagement while helping local businesses grow.

How we built it

Neighborhood Insider was built using Next.js, React, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, Supabase, Stripe, GitHub, and Vercel.

OpenAI GPT-5.6 played a central role throughout development by helping us refine product strategy, design user experiences, improve workflows, generate content, and accelerate software development.

OpenAI Codex was used extensively throughout implementation to accelerate coding, debugging, testing, refactoring, production readiness, and rapid iteration as the platform evolved.

Challenges we ran into

Building a platform that combines community information, AI-powered marketing, business management, and multiple user experiences into one cohesive product required balancing usability, scalability, and performance.

Another major challenge was designing AI features that solve real problems for local businesses instead of adding AI simply for novelty.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud to have built a working AI-powered community intelligence platform that demonstrates how artificial intelligence can strengthen neighborhoods while giving small businesses practical tools to compete and grow.

We're especially proud of creating an integrated platform where community discovery and AI-powered business marketing work together in one experience instead of requiring multiple disconnected applications.

What we learned

Building Neighborhood Insider reinforced that AI can improve every stage of software development—from planning and architecture to coding, debugging, testing, and continuous product refinement.

We also learned that the most valuable AI solutions are the ones that solve practical, everyday problems for real communities.

What's next for Neighborhood Insider

Our roadmap includes expanding Neighborhood Insider into additional communities, enhancing the AI Creative Studio, adding more trusted local data integrations, expanding business automation, and continuing to build intelligent tools that help residents stay informed while helping local businesses thrive.

Our long-term vision is to become the leading AI-powered community intelligence platform, giving every neighborhood a trusted source for local information while providing businesses with an AI-powered marketing department built directly into the platform.
