Inspiration

We created NegotiateHer to tackle the gender pay gap and empower individuals to negotiate salaries with confidence. Too often, women and gender-nonconforming individuals are underpaid simply because they lack access to the right data or support. We wanted to change that. This project isn’t just about code; it’s about breaking barriers, amplifying voices, and making fair pay a reality for everyone.

What it does

Using AI and real-time salary data, our chatbot provides:
Resume reviews to improve job applications
Negotiation scripts tailored to different industries
Salary insights to help users benchmark their worth
Cold email templates for salary discussions
Legal aid guidance to help users understand their rights in pay disputes

By combining technology and financial empowerment, NegotiateHer equips individuals with the confidence and tools to advocate for fair pay and navigate salary negotiations effectively.

How we built it

We used:

Flask for backend API handling
React.js for a clean and interactive UI
Google Gemini AI for intelligent salary advice
Bureau of Labor Statistics API for real-time salary data
