The Problem That Started It All

Every business owner has been there — a supplier sends a quote, and you know it's inflated, but you don't know how to push back without damaging the relationship or losing the deal. Negotiation is a skill most people were never taught, and it costs businesses thousands every year.

That's exactly what inspired NegotiateAI.

What NegotiateAI Does

NegotiateAI is an AI-powered negotiation coaching platform built entirely with MeDo. Businesses paste any supplier quote and the app does three things:

• Analyzes the quote — scoring your leverage, exposing weaknesses in the offer, and recommending a counter-offer
• Coaches you — giving you the exact tactics and language to use
• Roleplay trains you — the AI becomes the supplier so you can practice the real conversation before it happens

How I Built It with MeDo

I built NegotiateAI entirely through natural language conversations with MeDo — no hand-written code. Here's how I structured it:

1. Described the full app flow in a single detailed prompt — home, analysis, roleplay, and results screens
2. Iterated the roleplay engine by asking MeDo to refine how the AI supplier responds — making it more realistic and context-aware
3. Added the Coach Mode toggle through a follow-up conversation, asking MeDo to layer in live feedback during roleplay
4. Styled and deployed with one click to a public URL

The most impressive thing MeDo generated was the dynamic roleplay engine — it maintains full context of the negotiation, adapts the supplier's stubbornness based on the user's tactics, and gives real-time coaching feedback, all within a single chat-based interface.

Challenges I Faced

The biggest challenge was making the AI supplier feel realistic — not too easy, not impossible. I had to iterate the prompt several times, describing supplier personality traits and boundaries, until the roleplay felt genuinely tense and useful.

Another challenge was the transition between analysis and roleplay — making sure the AI carried context from the quote analysis into the live negotiation session seamlessly.

What I Learned

I learned that MeDo is exceptionally powerful for building conversational AI experiences. What would have taken weeks of backend engineering took hours. The multi-turn chat interface in MeDo maps perfectly to negotiation roleplay — it's almost like the platform was made for this use case.
