Inspiration

As a woman entrepreneur who has co-founded three companies, I have experienced firsthand how difficult it can be to find other women building companies, working in technology, or leading projects.

Many times we are doing incredible work, but we don’t know each other. We don’t know what the other women around us are building, and because of that we miss opportunities to collaborate, support each other, or grow together.

At the same time, many communities, organizations, and venture capital funds want to support women-led startups — but they often don’t know where to find them.

Nebula was inspired by this gap.

The name Nebula comes from astronomy: a nebula is a place where stars are born. In the same way, this platform aims to become a place where ideas, startups, and collaborations between women can emerge and grow.

What it does

Nebula is a global platform where women professionals, entrepreneurs, and founders can:

  • Create professional profiles
  • Showcase their startups, projects, and skills
  • Discover other women building companies or working in tech
  • Connect with collaborators, mentors, and communities

The platform also allows venture capitalists, organizations, and supporters of women entrepreneurship to discover women-led startups and talent in one place.

By increasing visibility and connection, Nebula helps unlock more opportunities and financial empowerment for women.

How we built it

Nebula was built during the hackathon using a combination of AI tools that made rapid development possible:

  • Lovable to prototype and build the platform
  • Kiro to assist with coding and implementation
  • ElevenLabs to generate the voice narration for the demo video

These tools allowed the project to go from idea to working prototype in less than a day.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge was time. Building a meaningful concept, designing the platform, and producing a demo in such a short period required focusing only on the core experience. Another challenge was designing a platform that balances community, professional identity, and startup discovery, making it valuable both for women looking to connect and for investors or organizations looking to support them.

What I learned

This project reinforced how powerful technology can be in lowering barriers to opportunity. Sometimes the biggest problem is not talent — it is visibility and connection. When people can find each other, collaboration and opportunities naturally follow.

What's next for Nebula

The long-term vision is to grow Nebula into a global ecosystem where women can:

  • Build professional networks
  • Find collaborators and mentors
  • Discover funding opportunities
  • Showcase their startups and projects

Ultimately, Nebula aims to help more women participate in building companies, technology, and innovation worldwide.
