About the project*: Inspiration I am a Local Community Development graduate from Faraa Camp, Tubas. Tubas is an agricultural region, but farmers lose crops due to diseases and low market prices. I wanted to use my degree to solve a real local problem.

What it does Tubas Community AI helps Tubas farmers:

• Take a photo of a plant/olive tree and detect disease instantly
• Get advice on treatment in Arabic
• Connect farmers directly to buyers to get better prices

How we built it

• AI Model: Image detection model (YOLOv8) for crop diseases, fine-tuned on Nebius GPUs
• Backend: Python + FastAPI hosted on Nebius
• Frontend: Simple mobile-first web app for farmers with low internet

Challenges we ran into

• Limited data for local Palestinian crops
• Farmers in Tubas need Arabic and simple UI, not complex apps

Accomplishments that we're proud of Combining my degree in Local Development with AI to create a real solution for my community in Tubas, not just a student project.

What we learned Real development needs technology that understands local needs. Nebius AI Studio helped train the model fast and cheap.

What's next for Tubas Community AI

• Add more crops (wheat, olives, vegetables)
• Partner with Tubas agricultural cooperatives
• Launch marketplace for farmers
