Inspiration
This idea was inspired by a simple but powerful goal: to support local vendors while also increasing convenience for everyday people. I noticed how fragmented and invisible many neighborhood services still are, and I wanted to build something that could bridge that gap. I started by creating a homepage using LOVEABLE, which helped me visualize how users could explore nearby services quickly and simply.
What it does
"Neary" is a hyperlocal platform designed to help people discover and connect with all kinds of nearby stores — from grocery and medical shops to barbers, cafés, and mechanics.
How we built it
One of the biggest challenges I faced was sourcing reliable vendor data. It’s not easy to gather or verify local businesses, especially when many aren’t online yet. Another challenge was conceptualizing how to build a strong community where all types of vendors could register and actively engage with the platform.

What we learned
In the process of building this, I learned to think from the perspective of local vendors and shop owners — understanding their needs, limitations, and how digital tools can truly empower them.
What's next for Neary
Short-Term Goals (Next 1–3 months):---
Build a simple working prototype (app/web) Allow vendor registration with phone, photo & location Launch in a small local area (pilot test)
Mid-Term Goals (3–6 months):---
Add features like ratings, search filters, categories Improve UI and onboarding flow Collect feedback from both users and vendors
Long-Term Vision:-----
Expand city-wise or by community clusters Partner with local governments or NGOs Use AI to auto-list shops from public data/photos/voice
