Inspiration
Creators want to reach fans easier and get rewarded without any problems with publishers and labels
What it does
Reward the creators without any intermediaries. Remove the middle-man from the equation. Can be expandable to other types of content. Now it is only books but can be done the same with audio, video and so on...
How we built it
In order to publish a book, we store the file data using web3.storage and IPFS. And for the file metadata we used Moralis. When subscribing to an author, we use Roketo to create a stream between the user's wallet and the author's wallet. In order to add more personalization, we use Mintbase.io to know if the fan and the authors have had a previous interaction. For example, if the fan has gotten an NFT from the author through Mintbase
Challenges we ran into
Everything is very unstable and very low-quality of documentation and examples. Frustrating moments, we need to improve the quality of the onboarding for new engineers. Trying to use Covalent, we cannot for NEAR, only Aurora support. Roketo was not clear to use. Not many examples. Mintbase didn't work properly on testnet.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
It works!
What we learned
A lot, first-ever project on NEAR. Creating streams with Roketo. Uploading files to IPFS. Minting an NFT with Mintbase and transferring it to another wallet.
