Many structural accommodations exist to accommodate wheelchairs (eg. Ramps). However, these structures are usually placed in obscure locations, causing much confusion, deterring them from travelling.

NavigationABLE is a mobile app aimed at empowering the disabled by making navigational information more accessible (Eg. pathways, incline, width).

The app was built using expo and the reactJS framework. It allows users to seamlessly move between chosen start and end points within SUTD. The app then displays the shortest route for wheelchair bound users. Furthermore, key navigational information such as the incline of pathways can be displayed by interacting with icons displayed on the map. This achieves our goal of making SUTD more accessible to the disabled by increasing awareness of the possible routes that wheelchair bound individuals can take.

During this project, we had to learn several new technologies, including reactJS and CSS styling. We streamlined the number of functions our application performed to make the development of the app practical given the short time frame.
