Inspiration

This project started from everyday moments where I wanted to build or fix something but wasn’t sure if my idea would actually work. Often, I had real objects or materials in front of me, but searching online led to advice that was too generic, unsafe, or simply didn’t match my situation. I wanted a better way—something that starts from what’s real and helps people understand what they can build before they begin.

What it does

NAVA helps people build real projects using the objects they already have. Users can scan or upload photos of their materials, and the system suggests what can be built from them. A reference image of the desired result can also be uploaded. By comparing both, it checks what’s possible, guides each step, and helps complete the project safely.

How I built it

I designed the project around a clear and simple flow: scan what you have, upload a reference or idea, set a goal, and then follow guided steps. I used Gemini 3 because it can understand images, goals, and instructions together, which is important for real-world building tasks where context matters.

Challenges I ran into

One of the main challenges was keeping the experience simple while still making sure the guidance was accurate and safe. It was also important to avoid over-explaining and to design a flow that feels natural for people with different skill levels.

Accomplishments that I’m proud of

I’m proud of creating a system that focuses on understanding real-world situations instead of making assumptions. The ability to compare what someone has with what they want to build, and then guide them step by step, is something I feel strongly about.

What I learned
