Inspiration
After taking half a semester of CSE115, we wanted to code something that was fun yet within our skillset. We are very excited about the holiday season and had this idea based on childhood video games we would play.
What it does
Our code builds the foundation for an interactive chat with Kris Kringle. This allows users to input their names and check if they are on Santa's infamous 'naughty list' or his 'nice list'.
How we built it
We utilized python code for this project. Within our code, we demonstrated our knowledge of reading csv files and 'if statements'.
Challenges we ran into
One challenge that we ran into was being unsure of how to end files after using them. Furthermore, we ran into issues with debugging and ensuring all possibilities were accounted for.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are so proud that our code was able to run as planned!
What we learned
We learned the basics of applying coding principles from CSE 115, as well as how to work together to create a project. Each person has their own strengths, and we can contribute to the team.
What's next for Naughty or Nice Checker
In the future, we hope to learn how to apply our python code to a live website by translating it into javascript. This would allow users from around the globe to easily enjoy and interact with our interpretation of 'Kris Kringle'.
