Natwise: Your financial sat-nav for the road ahead
Financial education assumes a smartphone, good reading skills and spare confidence. The people who most need it often have none of those. Margaret is 81 and has never used a banking app. Jayden is 18 and has never seen a statement. Daniel struggles with literacy and Sam has a learning difficulty. Today's tools are built for confident users, so these customers fall further behind as banking moves online and assumes a one-size-fits-all experience.
What it does
The app is comprised of 3 parts:
- Learn. Four journeys match real situations: starting uni, a first job, managing money for the first time, and falling behind on bills. A banking-basics course covers sort codes, the banking app and spotting a scam. Lessons use scenarios with real numbers, a checklist to act on, and MoneyHelper sources with review dates. There are no streaks, deadlines or pressure to finish. Quizzes are graded on the server and never shame a wrong answer.
- Understand your own money. The plain-English monthly letter and the shared dashboard turn a customer's own transactions into the same kind of lesson. It covers where the money went, what's coming, and a scam to watch. Learning is no longer abstract.
- Intelligent forecasting. Grounded answers to any monetary questions and concerns. Anticipate and prepare for financial risks before they happen.
