Inspiration

The education and environment awards motivated this project. Instead of selecting one over the other, we ultimately decided to meet at the middle and attempt to achieve both.

What it does

NatureExplorers's purpose is to pull up information and pictures about various creatures after typing in an animal/plant name or inputting an image while also revealing their primary locations on a map. However, due to heavy time constraints, NatureExplorer is currently only able to display a preselected set of animals and plants, and the search bar is currently unfunctional.

How we built it

We had knowledge in creating progressive web applications, so we used our knowledge and multiple open source codes in HTML, CSS, and Javascript to create a website.

Challenges we ran into

This project was not our first idea, but many previous ideas, as well as several hours of our time, were wasted when we failed to be able to utilize Microsoft Azure on our computers. As a result, we had roughly 12 hours to complete a brand new project. It runs on link, but not functionally.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We completed a functional website that includes a map, photographs, and interactivity.

What we learned

We learned about time management and various aspects of website creation.

What's next for NatureExplorers

We hope to improve its accessibility and various features in the future.
