Inspiration

We were inspired by our lack of knowledge, wanting to educate ourselves and others on the plants in our backyard and their possible dangers.

What it does

Returns relevant and useful information about a picture of a plant.

How we built it

We created a chrome extension that receives a picture for input, then uses Computer Visions and Machine Learning to identify the plant given with a set neural network.

We learned more about different types of plants through our project and how to incorporate all sorts of information into a singular extension file.

What's next for Nature Namer

More accurate plant identification and ability to recognize images that do not fall under the category of plants.
