At Chums Chat, we’re combining decentralized communication, digital identity, and blockchain ecosystems into one seamless user experience.

The Web3 and AI Unstoppable Hackathon gave us the perfect opportunity to push this vision forward.

We connected accounts on Matrix, the largest decentralized secure messaging network, with Unstoppable Domains.

Now, anyone can search for a user by a domain like kitty.nft: start a private chat, send tokens inside conversations — all without needing to know the server or technical details.

You can host a personal Web3 page via IPFS and link it to your domain, making it accessible directly inside the app, without leaving the Chums environment.

Why it matters 🎯

Identity in Web3 should be portable, verifiable, and usable across ecosystems — not locked into a single platform.

By linking decentralized identifiers to communication and token flows, we make blockchain-based identity a living part of daily interactions — not just a badge on a profile.

What we delivered during the hackathon 🧩

  • Domain-to-identity mapping: find Matrix users by their Unstoppable domains.

  • Reverse resolution: discover a contact from their wallet address via domain.

  • Token interactions: send and receive tokens in chat using domain names, enabling easy peer-to-peer funding.

  • Web3 surfing: seamless support for Web2 sites and NFT-based Web3 domains, enabling quick transactions with native wallets on decentralized sites.

What's next 📈

Digital Identity remains one of the core development directions for Chums.

  • We’re continuing to expand integrations, with Ethereum Name Service support coming next.

  • We're also working on deeper cross-server discovery based on domain names, making it easier to find users across the entire Web3 federation.

  • Additionally, we plan to integrate WalletConnect to enable native transactions across decentralized applications within the Unstoppable ecosystem.
