Who We Are 🌱

Chums Chat is a decentralized messenger designed for Web3 communities. We combine secure encrypted chats, intuitive blockchain interactions, and digital identity management—all in a single user-friendly social space.

Recent Achievements 🎉

We recently succeeded at the Unstoppable Domains Hackathon, linking Matrix IDs with NFT domains. This lets users easily chat, discover contacts, send funds using readable names, and open IPFS-hosted sites tied directly to domains.

Inspired by these results, we immediately jumped into the TRON Grand Hackathon. Excited by TRON's ecosystem and potential, we knew it was a perfect fit for our vision.

What We Built at the Hackathon 🧩

We chose the Web3 track, which focused on Decentralized Identity and Web3 Social Platforms—areas that strongly align with our goal of integrating blockchain naturally into everyday communication.

Our core integrations with TRON include:

  • Native TRON Wallet Connection: Connect or create a wallet within the app.

  • In-Chat Token Transfers: Send and receive TRX and TRC-20 tokens without leaving your conversations.

  • Unified Digital Identity: Matrix ID + Web3 domains + TRON address shown as one portable profile.

These features represent our first step in integrating TRON functionality, laying the groundwork for more advanced features in the future.

The Result 🏆

We took home a HackaTRON prize! The win validated our thesis that social + blockchain must feel native. The feedback from the TRON community 💜 was invaluable in helping us refine our product and find our unique position in the Web3 ecosystem. It also plugged us into a vibrant builder ecosystem—exactly where we want to be.

In Q4 '24, we're focused on enhancing the overall user experience with:

  • Core Messaging Improvements: Refining the fundamentals that make communication smooth.

  • Server Customization: Tools for communities to create their own unique spaces.

  • On-Chain Quest Mechanics: In-app activities powered by smart contracts—earn rewards without leaving your chat.

On January 8, 2025, Chums will celebrate its first anniversary! 🎂🥳🚀
