Inspiration

We were inspired by the issues concerning Environmental Justice. Many communities within societies have aspects of disadvantages in some ways, and we wanted to explore ways to protect these areas regardless of backgrounds or statuses. In the end, Environmental Justice is a basic human right we should all have control over.

What it does

Our website allows those to be educated on regulations and the effects of Environmental Justice. Including resources like petitions, self-educating links, and bills, Nationally Green promotes the importance of giving every American the opportunity to in hopes, live a meaningful life without being impacted by the choices of others.

How we built it

Before building our website through Webflow, we created our UI wireframe with Figma. By laying out the format and research, we transferred our ideas from Figma to Webflow in order to create a functional website.

Challenges we ran into

Being unfamiliar with Webflow, we struggled with understanding the mechanics since it was our first time executing a full website through the platform. We struggled the most with the layout since it differed greatly from web designing in Figma. Because we had many complex areas, it took time when it came to formatting our photos and texts.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of persevering through our first Hackathon and taking the chance to make mistakes and learn.

What we learned

We learned a lot when it came to web development and styling. We also were able to dig deeper into our topic of Environmental Justice, and educated ourselves on the imbalances in our communities, and ways to serve society.

What's next for Nationally Green

We hope to share Nationally Green with others to spread our resources in hopes to create an environment liveable for others. We also hope that people can take our website as inspiration for change, and create a new future surrounding equitable assets.
