Inspiration

Most health institutions in Malawi continue using paper health passports that may be lost, damaged or even forgotten. This leads to stalling, duplication of tests and absenteeism of patient history. Our desired system is one that would provide everybody with a secure and long-term medical record that can be accessed anywhere in the nation.

What it does

National Digital Health Passport provides a single record to each patient with a lifetime connexion to National ID and fingerprint. In any hospital or clinic, when a patient swipes his fingerprint, he or she is immediately provided with his or her medical history, which is their personal records on who has been vaccinated, the medicines he has been prescribed, lab tests, and diagnoses. The health workers will then be able to view beyond the records and input new information that will make sure there is continuous and precise care that cannot be lost in paper booklets.
