Inspiration

Job seekers and ambitious professionals are overwhelmed by tools, yet lack clear direction and purpose. For too long, careers have been a solo journey—confusing, overwhelming, and disconnected from who we truly are. We have personally experienced, and watched peers experience, career identity confusion during transitions. The world will soon go through a job-related identity crisis. Enough is enough.

What it does

Naru is your career OS. It reveals your future professional identity and guides you step-by-step to grow Job seekers and ambitious professionals unlock clear, personalized career paths and the guidance to grow into them.

1) Identity-driven career paths: Naru models who you are & who you can become, not just your resume. Career paths are built around identity, strengths, and future roles.

2) One OS, not infinite tools: Naru cuts through noise with evidence-backed paths: 1) Clear role trajectories, 2) Skills to build and 3) Decisions to make next

3) AI as your career copilot: instead of replacing workers, Naru trains them to adapt. AI coaches users through pivots, upskilling, and transitions.

How we built it

Naru is built using Lovable, Supabase, and Gemini models (2.5, NanoBanana, and 3.0), powering identity construction, image generation, an AI copilot, and intelligent web scraping.

Challenges we ran into

The main challenges were designing robust prompting systems and effective data leverage to ensure:

  • Coherent, consistent, and cost-effective image generation of future professional identities
  • A copilot capable of synthesizing historical data into reliable future predictions and executable, goal-aligned plans.
  • Reliable, structured web scraping that meaningfully informs guidance rather than overwhelming users

Accomplishments that we're proud of

What we learned

Competitors: LinkedIn Learning, Reforge, BetterUp, career coaches, job search platforms. They all focus on skills jobs, and resumes. Naru answers a different question: “Who am I becoming, and how do I grow into that person?” This is identity → behavior → role, not role → behavior → identity. And it matches how real careers evolve in the real world.

What we understand that they don’t:

People chase success without a clear picture of what they truly want. Vision boards are static; career tools are disconnected from emotions and purpose. In the age of AI and burnout, people need clarity and meaning, not just productivity. Gen Z and Millennials are actively redefining success through purpose, not pressure.

  1. Careers are identity-driven, not skills-driven. People grow toward identities that feel true to them, not job titles that make sense on paper.

  2. Voice and energy patterns are stronger predictors of future trajectory than skills or personality tests. They reveal direction, motivation, and momentum.

  3. People can only reach a future they can clearly see. Naru maps identity momentum and makes the future self visible and actionable.

  4. Guidance must be step-by-step and lived, not inspirational. Naru provides daily, behavioral progression, habits, skills, transitions, and next steps.
