Inspiration

We wanted to build something that bridges the gap between raw creativity and structured storytelling. Too many tools force writers into rigid templates—NarrativeForge lets the story breathe.

What it does

NarrativeForge is an AI-powered engine that generates immersive, branching narratives with rich sensory detail. Users input a premise, and the system crafts dynamic characters, vivid settings, and plot branches that adapt based on choices.

How we built it

• Frontend: React + Tailwind CSS for a clean, responsive UI
• Backend: Node.js + Express API
• AI Layer: OpenAI GPT-4 API for narrative generation
• Database: MongoDB for storing story branches and user sessions

Challenges we ran into

• Keeping narrative coherence across branching paths
• Managing API rate limits during heavy generation
• Designing an intuitive UI for complex story trees

Accomplishments that we're proud of

• Achieved seamless real-time story branching
• Built a working MVP in 48 hours
