Our group consists of five members (I know the requirement is four...but please forgive us Q^Q...we didn't want to leave any man behind!)
Julia Wang, Cassie Wang, James Lei, David Hong, Alex Oh
Throughout our classes in AP Computer Science, my group and I have learned many things about preliminary and intermediary Java and computing. Despite the vast utility of Java and the curriculum of this course, we wanted to invest some time into developing a game.
Due to our somewhat ambitious desires and our lack of experience in this area, we decided to start off with a dating sim. While dating sims in essence are always relatively similar, our dating sim brings a unique tilt to this genre with the central idea that the main character is a narcissist.
The main character is put into a situation where he / she dates a person who possesses many similar qualities. Through a series of questions and unexpected predicaments, the main character is fleshed out to show his true character. This game also allows for a variable personality that is determined by a set of survey questions that are introduced in the introduction of the game.
We were inspired by our the ingenuity of our team leader, Cassie Kyoko Hondacivic Wang and her equal/if not more powerful buddy: Julia Wang, who formulated the idea to create a narcissistic dating sim. Our target audience includes people of ages 15 - 99 who generally over exaggerate their alpha dominance and are very found of their own body (those who are asexual).
The key features that we are proud of include the genius UI that we have created inside the system. The player is allowed to move around while he deliberates on what he should choose to answer the questions. On top of this, our game features a unique graphic design for the UI and high quality textures for the landscape background.
We had a lot of fun with this. xD Ayyy lmao.
